ISO 22716 is one of the key pillars of the new European legislation on cosmetics. The legislation sets high consumer safety requirements. All cosmetic products traded in the EU must be manufactured according to GMP principles. The legislation binds all actors in the cosmetics supply chain: manufacturers of ingredients and cosmetic products, distributors, and traders from both European and non-European countries. GMP aims to ensure that the activities leading to a final product meet the expected requirements and thus ensure product safety.
